EIA tests for the diagnosis of Hantaviruses

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay of IgM or IgG antibodies to Hantaviruses

Hantaviruses form a genus in the bunyaviridae family. Currently, over 20 different sero/genotypes have been reported so far from all over the world. In Asia and Europe, Hantaviruses cause HFRS or its milder form Nefropatia Epidemica (NE). In the new world they cause Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS).

Specific diagnosis can be done by serology using EIA, IFA or rapid diagnostic devices. In addition to EIA test kits Reagena offers serodiagnostic rapid tests Reagena POC PUUMALA IgM, POC DOBRAVA-HANTAAN IgM, and the newest ReaScan tests.  Reagena EIA Kits are used in the central laboratories while ReaScan rapid test can be performed with minimum training without any laboratory facilities.

Reagena IgM EIA uses m-capture principle which makes sample pre-treatment needless. The anti-human IgM antibody capture the human IgM, which is then detected with the HRP -labelled recombinant virus antigen. The kit includes all reagents needed for the assay.
